We want to invite Hillcrest’s congregation to view and/or participate in the arts as a means for greater worship of God
Encourage
We want to nurture congregants’ creative lives as it relates to faith in the Triune God using our gifts and talents.
Educate
We want to consistently bring the theological conversation about the intersections of art and faith to the table via book studies, seminars, etc. as a means to give congregants context and understanding about who God is and how our creative DNA is from Him.
Empower
We want to provide ways for creative expression that bring glory to God, as well as provide opportunities to build skills via classes.
Excellence
We want to inspire the pursuit of quality work in our creative endeavors in order to continue to develop the gifts God has given us
Exposure
We want to share our creative work with Hillcrest and the community around Hillcrest as a way to bring attention and glory to God and His story.
Programs & Activities
Hillcrest Creative Arts Ministry offers a wide variety of programs and activities for anyone in the community to participate in and enjoy. Our goal is to create opportunities for nurture our creative lives as a means of greater worship of God.
Hillcrest Creates
A monthly gathering to work on your current art project in community. All mediums and skill levels are welcome! We begin with a brief devotional, and sometimes there is a demonstration of how to use different mediums. Children under age 12 must have adult supervision.
Book Studies
Studies exploring the connection between art and faith, offered every spring and fall. Books from past studies here.
Field Trips
On occasion we meet at different art galleries and venues in and surrounding the Whatcom County community. We believe it is important to find influences and inspiration from those who live near and around us.
Kids Creative Saturday
